Tripods are essential for holding your camera steady for that perfect shot, but you still have the movement that occurs when you press the shutter button. Shutter release cables and remote controls allow you to trigger the shutter button without ever having to touch the camera. Our remote shutter releases and cables allow you to stand away from the camera, reducing unwanted vibrations and stopping the camera shake that happens when you physically touch the button.
We offer two versions of camera remote triggers, shutter release cables and remote shutter releases. With the cable, the trigger button is connected directly to the camera through a cable or cord. If you want to go fully cordless, however, you'll need a remote control shutter release where the shutter is triggered wirelessly. With shutter release cables, you're tethered to your camera and limited by the cable length. But with the shutter release remote control, you can move as far away as the wireless connection allows.
When Would You Use a Remote Shutter?
The remote shutter release can be used in a wide variety of photography situations. Wildlife photographers use camera remote triggers when capturing shy or dangerous animals. When using a telephoto or macro lens, remote shutter control is best to reduce camera shake. Remote control cameras are also great for long exposures that would otherwise create a blurry image.
How Do You Use a Remote Shutter Release?
Using a remote shutter release is as simple as pushing a button, whether that button is analog or digital. Either way, the remote shutter release connects to your camera via a cable or a remote digital receiver. When you push the button -- an analog button on a cable or the digital button on your wireless remote transmitter -- it triggers the shutter and takes the photograph.
