In 2008, Panasonic worked alongside Olympus to create the world's first micro four-thirds camera system. Well-known in the photography industry, the micro four-thirds Panasonic camera has no mirror, keeping the camera compact and lightweight with the benefit of having interchangeable lenses. Popular among camera enthusiasts for its easy-to-carry small size and freedom to change lenses, the micro four-thirds Panasonic camera set a new standard in the industry.
The popular Panasonic LUMIX camera series has a camera for everyone, from first-time photographers to experienced hobbyists. Great for content creators, Panasonic cameras capture quality still images while also providing stunning video, all in one compact camera. Panasonic is a great option for live streams and vlogging, as well as for more traditional still photography.
The History of Panasonic
Founded in 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita, Panasonic first sold duplex lamp sockets. In 1927, the company produced a bicycle lamp, the first product it marketed under the brand name National. Panasonic operated factories in Japan and other parts of Asia through the end of World War II, producing electrical components and appliances such as light fixtures, motors, and electric irons. After World War II, Panasonic regrouped and began to supply the post war boom in Japan with radios and appliances, as well as bicycles.
For more than 50 years, Panasonic has delighted American consumers with innovations for the home and business. Panasonic's consumer electronics and technology products range from award-winning VIERA High Definition Plasma and LCD TVs and LUMIX Digital Cameras to ruggedized Toughbook laptop computers, communications solutions, networkable office solutions, security systems, home appliances, personal care products, components, and entire in-flight entertainment and information systems.
