OCT 22: California Beach Look with Gregg Cobarr
Most photographers in California have either tried to photograph someone at a beach setting or have wanted to. This workshop is designed to not only give a photographer more confidence in shooting at the beach and surrounding areas, but to inspire the photographer by demonstrating a variety of techniques that will enable them to create professional looking “California Beach Look” images. This workshop will also help the photographer build a more interesting and exciting portfolio.
This photography workshop’s key purpose is to enable students to have the skills and knowledge to photograph in a beach environment successfully and creatively. There will be a model who will wear beach related outfits – bikinis, summer dresses, flowing skirts, shorts, cover ups, etc.

OCT 23: Advanced Studio Lighting and Posing (Portrait and Fashion) with Joe & Mirta Barnet – SA
This 4 hour class, using professional studio gear will deal with more complex lighting, using three, four, or more light sources. Students will photograph the model with provided PocketWizard triggering devices. In a controlled studio environment, your creativity is the only limit to what you can achieve. This workshop will take the mystery out of working with professional studio lighting, modifiers and metering.
If you don’t have experience working in the studio, or with off camera flash units larger than speedlights, attending our Beginning Studio Lighting and Posing (Portrait and Fashion) before this workshop is highly recommended.

OCT 23: Historical Downtown Architectural Photography Tour with Aaron Hoffman
Downtown Los Angeles’ architecture tells the story of the city’s growth. Dating back to the 1880’s, Broadway was Los Angeles’ principal commercial and entertainment corridor while Bunker Hill to the west was covered with stately Victorian mansions.
After meeting at the library, we’ll head to Pershing Square and Downtown’s Historic Core. Our walk will span the landmark 1890’s Bradbury Building, Art Deco masterpieces and some more modern construction. By shooting in late afternoon, we’ll capture downtown in changing light, giving photos variety and interest. We’ll have the opportunity to get some great food at Grand Central Market, then conclude back at the library.
