Calling all Creative Purists to Experience The Fujifilm X100VI

February 19, 2024  |  by Krishna Jaret

Fujifilm granted Samys Camera a first look at a pre-production X100VI earlier this month. Remember the sought-after Fujifilm X100V which is still nearly impossible to get your hands on? Making TikTok headlines, the X100V quickly became the camera of choice for passionate and creative photographers; in fact, many enthusiasts are still waiting months for it after placing orders.

The XV100VI is likely to follow a similar path of high demand when it is released in early March 2024. Like its predecessors, the XV100VI has superb image quality to ensure you have a fun and inspiring day of shooting. The small, sleek, and lightweight design makes it a perfect companion for a wide range of photography.

Higher Resolution, Greater Freedom

Standouts of the X100VI include Fujifilm5th Generation Imaging Technology with 1.5 times more resolution than its predecessor. Wherever creative passion takes you, the X100VI is going to do it at almost twice the speed with higher res, and extra focal lengths from the 1.4x and 2.0x digital teleconverters. This camera also features a powerful five-axis, in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system that provides up to 6 stops of stabilization so that photos stay sharp and videos stay stable in challenging lighting situations.

Fast AF, Any Questions?

The camera is built around a 40MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR BSI Sensor and X-Processor 5 imaging processing engine that powers improved autofocus and state-of-the-art subject detection. The X100VI can recognize and track a range of subjects, even in low-light conditions.

We could not wait to get our hands on the X100VI and once we did, we took it to downtown Los Angeles. Known for iconic street art, we decided to explore areas around the Arts District and Little Tokyo to find optimal shooting locations. Finding street art along the way, it was evident when we started to shoot that Fujifilms X100VI is built to embody everything you need in one camera, with one lens.

Once we shifted over to video, we were enthralled by the resolution capability of up to 6.2K/30P & 4K/60P. As we approached Little Tokyo, there was an array of activity and action ripe for capturing on video. We ventured through the colorful village and filmed, knowing that once we started editing, the X100VI10-bit video was going to shine with quality. The enhanced colors available would ensure top-quality footage when editing brightness, color, and contrast. Fujifilm also included 20 different and unique film simulations in the X100VI for flexibility in post-production; ensuring to give your reels a professional touch right in the palm of your hand.

The state-of-the-art autofocus was fully represented when we ventured over to the 6th Street bridge for additional photo opportunities; allowing us to lock in on the bridge and capture all its glory.

Cloud Collaboration Made Easy

After capturing still and video footage, we stopped for lunch at an entertaining revolving sushi restaurant filled with robot servers and delectable sushi dishes. This gave us a chance to take full advantage of the Native Frame.io Camera-to-Cloud integration. During our lunch break, we were able to wirelessly upload our photos and videos directly to Frame.io. Interestingly, you can also wirelessly upload content while your images are being created.

Final Words

Creating the ultimate combination of style alongside quality and state-of-the-art technology, the X100VI shines in the spotlight. A camera designed for the creative purist within us, the X100VI will be ready to deliver at a moments notice. This was evident throughout our demo day capturing images in downtown Los Angeles. TheX100VI is undoubtedly going to become a fan favorite, just like its predecessor the X100V. Once again Fujifilmdelivered a sleek, everyday camera that ensures passionate creatives can photograph, shoot video, and upload easily without missing a beat.
